Mareng Winnie urged President Rodrigo Duterte to make good on his campaign promises about the “transparency” and to put Former Vice President Jejomar Binay in Jail.
“Will you please, in the interest of transparency, make good on your campaign promise to have public officials lay bare their bank accounts? Can you start with yourself? We still don’t know if you or Sen. Antonio Trillanes is the liar. Or have you both forgotten that there is still this hanging issue?” Monsod wrote in her Philippine Daily Inquirer column.
It can be recalled that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV revealed during the campaign period that former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has an undeclared bank accounts in BPI Julia Vargas-Ortigas branch that allegedly contains millions of peso.
“Pardon me for having such a long memory, but you did promise that if you win the presidency, you will see that Binay goes to jail. How about it? There is evidence galore there,” she added.
During the campaign season, Duterte said former VP Binay will go to jail if he doesn’t win the election, and his family.
“If he (Binay) doesn’t win the election, he and many members of his family will go to jail.” Duterte said during the campaign period.
