‘No basic to declare state of lawlessness’ – Human Right Advocate

Human Rights Advocate Ellecer Carlos said there is no basis or widespread chaos and disorder to declare a state of lawlessness in the country.

“Walang sapat na basehan yung national conditions para masabi na may state of lawlessness.” Carlos said in an interview on GMA News TV ‘News To Go’.

All over the country overwhelming pa ang kapayapaan.

Ellecer Carlos said declaring the state of lawlessness is not the accurate way to stop criminals or any violence.

It gives a misleading picture on what is the condition in the Philippines. Sa tingin ko mas marahas ang military, mayroon pang vestiges of the culture of violence that is left over by the Marcos dictatorship.

“Ang mahalaga ay essential services so everybody will have the opportunities at ayusin ang criminal justice system, hindi sa lansangan but justice through our courts.” he added.
