Philippine National Police Chief Director Generald Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa confirmed that Superintendent Marvin Marcos has long been involved in illegal drug trade in the country.
During the Senate hearing last Wednesday, Drug lord Kerwin Espinosa named Marcos as one of the police officials who have received drug money from him in exchange for protection.
Dela Rosa on Saturday said Marcos is now in the “restricted custody” of the PNP in Camp Crame, Quezon City while the investigation is ongoing.
He added that based on reports Marcos has long been “tainted” with illegal drugs and he received even before Kerwin testified in the Senate hearing.
