Senators support the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) the institution, not necessarily its polarizing Chair Chito Gascon.
Sen. Win Gatchalian, on Sunday,as senators make the House of Representatives slashing the proposed P678-million budget of CHR next year to just P1,000.
“Yes, I think (ilalaban ng Senate),” he said on the CHR’s budget approved at the level of the Senate finance committee, adding that this is the emerging sentiment among his colleagues.
Gatchalian is a member of the majority bloc in the Senate which is aligned with the administration.
