A number of local government units called off classes due to the scheduled two-day transport strike.
Stop and Go Coalition President Jun Magno already confirmed that the planned transport strike would push through starting on Monday. Members of various transport groups are set to stage the strike in front of the LTFRB (Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board) office.
The said group are protesting the government’s plan to phase out jeepneys aged 15 years and older. The LTFRB said this is to modernize the transport vehicles and make them environment-friendly to passengers.
Here are the localities that are canceling their classes in all levels:
- Bocaue, Bulacan
- Malolos, Bulacan
- Marilao, Bulacan
- Santa Maria, Bulacan
- San Jose, Del Monte, Bulacan
