MANILA, Philippines – The beautiful and marvelous sunset across Manila Bay, is known as one of Manila’s most enduring charms and it never fails to attract both foreign and local visitors.
This time, the famous Manila Bay sunset found another admirer in the person of United States.
Pete Souza, Chief Official White House photographer shared on his Instagram a picture of the 54-year-old US President watching the famous Manila Bay sunset on Tuesday, November 17.
The photo was captioned: “Watching the sunset in Manila.”
President Obama arrived at NAIA around 11 a.m on Tuesday aboard Air Force One.
A few hours after arriving in the country. President Obama toured the US-made BRP Gregorio del Pilar, the Philippines Navy flagship.
An article written by Alexis Romero for the Philippine Star quoted Pres. Obama as saying: ” “The ship that I just toured. a former US Coast Guard vessel, helps the Philippines respond to disasters, perform counter terrorism missions and patrol the South China Sea.”
He also announced that the United States will send two more ships to the Philippines. He also pledged to spend $259 million to help strengthen the maritime capability of the nation and other allies in the region.
