“I will give them standing orders to shoot these criminals,” this was Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said during his speech in Coron Palawan on Friday.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano said no one will be spared when it comes to fighting illegal drugs in the country.
“These drug syndicates are armed and will resist arrest. When the lives of the people are endangered, I will give them standing orders to shoot these criminals,” Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him (Duterte) as saying.
He also vowed that he would not let illegal drugs to damage the image of Palawan.
“They (pushers) are exchanging ‘shabu’ for chickens, pigs and other farm animals,” duterte added.
Meanwhile, Sen.Cayetano pointed that illegal drugs had been the cause of “disorder and lack of security in the country”,but he added that he and duterte will “strengthen and capacitate the country’s security forces” to fight crime and drugs.
“Sobra na ang gulo at hirap na dinaranas ng tao mula sa krimen at droga. Hindi natin hahayaan na maghari ang kaguluhan at sirain ng droga at krimen ang kagandahan ng inyong lalawigan,” Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying.
“We will cleanse the ranks of the police and military of the corrupt, provide better salaries and incentives, and modernize their anti-crime and anti-narcotics infrastructure,” he added.
