Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Presidential candidate said he could not take the advice by some of his friends to “reconfigure” his image to get votes.
“If I lose the (presidential) election, I will still survive. But if I lose my identity in this universe, in this planet, I am nothing,” he said.”I’d rather lose the election than change.” Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and his running mate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was in Tagaytay for a concert dubbed “Tunog ng Pagbabago”.
In his speech,Duterte enumerated his programs if elected as President,citing that he will end “illegal drugs”,”criminality”,”corruption”. he also talked about “fixing the government” and his programs on agriculture.
“I am offering you a few things — to end (illegal) drugs, criminality, (and) corruption,” he said.
He also said that 70 percent of Filipinos are still poor,reason why “we have to fix the country”.
His Senatorial list was also present in the event: Susan “Toots” Ople, Dante Liban, Sandra Cam, Dionisio Santiago and former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Francis Tolentino.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano clarified that Tolentino was among those people who helped organize the event,and he added that Tolentino is “officially endorsed” with their team since December.
