Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said he will talk to the telecommunication officials and ask how to resolved the slow internet in the country, if elected as president.
Mayor Duterte said that he will confront directly the telecommunications officials to fix the slow internet in the Philippines,Duterte said when he was asked how he will solve the internet problem in the country.
“Wala akong panahong makipagdaldalan. I’d talk to the telecommunications people and ask, ‘Ano bang problema n’yo?'” Philippine Star quoted him as saying.
According to Ookla’s household download index the Philippines is the second lowest in terms of internet speed in Asia.
The Index showed that the Philippines ranked 176 out of 202 countries as of May 2015. The download speed in the country was at 3.64 Mbps.
However, He admitted that he is not updated with technology and he is using a cellphone with keypad.
“‘Di ko alam ang Internet. Cellphone ko ‘yung de-pindot lang,” Duterte said.
