A photo of a mini-dumptrucks with a government plate used by the Liberal Party in campaign sorties in Zamboanga Sibugay currently making the rounds online.
The controversial photo shows tarpaulins bearing the name of Liberal Party’s standard bearer Mar Roxas and the words “Daang Matuwid,” According to North Cotabato Former Governor Manny Piñol “more netizens are sending in reports of more proofs of misuse and abuse of government equipment for political purposes”.
The mini-dumptrucks was loaded with yellow campaign materials and the buses of Dipolog City government is being used during the arrival of Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel Roxas III in Dipolog City.
Manny Piñol urged the Comelec and the Office of the Ombudsman to act on these reports to restore our people’s trust in our government.
According to Omnibus Election Code the use of “public funds, money deposited in trust, equipment, facilities owned or controlled by government for an election campaign” is prohibited.
