Presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said he will try to stop corruption,illegal drugs and criminality within 3-6 months but not ‘heaven’ if elected as President.
During his closing remarks at the second Presidential debate hosted by TV5, Philippine Star yesterday, Duterte said:“I will not promise you heaven but I will try to stop corruption. In three to six months, I will stop corruption in government,”.
He added that there will be no progress can ever happen to Philippines if there is criminality.
“In this country, there is trouble everywhere. There is corruption, criminality and flooding of drugs, which is instilling fear in the government,no progress can ever happen to this country” if those issues can not be addressed.
“If you can not stop corruption, you can not stop criminality and you can not stop drugs,” he continued.
The tough-talking Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said “I have to provide security for the present generation and the coming generation”.
“I can tell you now that I will provide the leadership not only the platforms, but leadership.”
