Senatorial candidate and Former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima described Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte promise to eradicate crime in the country within three to six months as ‘A complete illusion’.
During the INQLive interview on Tuesday night, de Lima said Duterte’s promise to eradicate crime within 3 to 6 months is “impossible, unless he will tell us how exactly he will do it”, de Lima said when asked how will Mayor Duterte stop crime in 3 to 6 months.
“How in heaven’s name can it be done to eradicate criminality in three to six months. It’s a complete illusion,” Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted her as saying.
She added that the capacity of our law enforcers should be improved, specially the technology, training of personnels and to have a police visibility in the country.
It can be recalled that Administration bet Mar Roxas also criticized Duterte’s campaign promise to end crime within 3 to 6 months.
“Itong 3-6 months na ito, pambobola ito eh. Lahat ng eksperto na nakakaalam sa krimen, nagsasabing imposible ito,” Roxas said. “So papaano sasabihin na titigil lahat ito sa loob ng 3 hanggang anim na buwan, eh sa 20 taon sa Davao City, hindi ito nasugpo?” he added.
